SYNC 4 is the smartest version of SYNC. It’s designed to know what you need and when you need it. It brings new levels of intelligence and twice the computing power of SYNC 3 to help make using navigation, choosing music and connecting your smartphone to your vehicle faster and easier.

Available Enhanced Voice Recognition

SYNC 4 can understand conversational requests and offer data-based suggestions to drivers, all with natural speech recognition, which enables communication via text.

Cloud-Based Connectivity

Your SYNC system is designed to keep up with your life. Get available real-time traffic, weather and destination information, communicate with friends and family and enjoy seamless updates to help you stay connected. Available advanced speech recognition lets you be more conversational with commands.

Digital Owner's Manual

Your digital Owner’s Manual is now stored in the cloud, seamlessly accessed through your SYNC 4 system.* From your vehicle’s touchscreen, you can quickly get the most up-to-date vehicle information by visual search or by typing in keywords. You can even stream how-to videos.

Wireless Phone Connection to Apple CarPlay,® Android Auto™ Compatibility and SYNC AppLink®

Using Bluetooth,® connect to your favorite apps without plugging into a USB port. You can also wirelessly charge your smartphone on the available wireless charging pad on select vehicles.

Available One-Step Navigation

Just ask the system to take you to your destination and let the software do its job. Along the way you’ll get:

  • Real-time weather updates
  • Information, traffic conditions and construction delays
  • Fuel station locations, or charging sites for battery electric vehicles
  • Parking locations and pricing
  • Local and national restaurant listings, with Yelp reviews
  • Routes based on what you're towing (select vehicles)

Connected Navigation Options

When you take delivery of your vehicle equipped with SYNC 4 with enhanced voice recognition, you’ll be automatically enrolled in a trial offer with either Connected Navigation (90-day trial)** or Connected Built-In Navigation (3 years of service).*** Once your complimentary period ends, you can continue to enjoy the benefits of Connected Navigation services when you enroll through your owner account.

Larger Screen Options

SYNC 4 is tailored to run on up to 15.5-inch touchscreen displays, which include enhanced multitasking to simultaneously display different features at the same time.

*Don’t drive while distracted or while using handheld devices. Use voice-operated systems when possible. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.

**Connected Navigation: Navigation services require SYNC® 4 and FordPass Connect™ (optional on select vehicles), complimentary Connected Service and the FordPass® app (see FordPass Terms for details). Eligible vehicles receive a complimentary 90-day trial of navigation services that begins on the new vehicle warranty start date. Customers must unlock the navigation service trial by activating the eligible vehicle with a FordPass member account. Annual service contract is required for connected navigation services.

Connected service and features depend on compatible AT&T network availability. Evolving technology/cellular networks/vehicle capability may limit functionality and prevent operation of connected features.

***Connected Built-In Navigation: Navigation services require SYNC® 4 and FordPass Connect (optional on select vehicles), complimentary Connected Service and the FordPass app (see FordPass Terms for details). Eligible vehicles receive a complimentary 3-year trial of navigation services that begins on the new vehicle warranty start date. Customers must unlock the navigation service trial by activating the eligible vehicle with a FordPass member account. After the complimentary trial, the connected navigation service will terminate, and the system will revert to embedded offline navigation.

Connected service and features depend on compatible AT&T network availability. Evolving technology/cellular networks/vehicle capability may limit functionality and prevent operation of connected features.
